Strategic Plan

One of the strongest tenets of any community should be its commitment to ensure the safety, well-being, and provisions of opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Mount Aloysius Corp., in New Lexington, Ohio, has been proudly serving individuals with intellectual disabilities for over 30 years. Under the direction of a volunteer Board of Directors, Mount Aloysius is an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (ICF/IID), licensed and certified by the Ohio Department of Health to serve 72 individuals in our main building with eight individuals residing in our smaller home not far from the main building.

The Mount Aloysius Board of Directors, in conjunction with the Executive Leadership team, developed a strategic plan to strengthen the foundation of Mount Aloysius. In order to make Mount Aloysius more effective, we must be proactive in addressing the evolving needs of the developmental disabilities field and the need for Mount Aloysius to be flexible and responsive to the needs of individuals in our region of the state. The initial step in this process was the development of a strong strategic plan to address:

  1. Services and supports for individuals served.
  2. Communication.
  3. Staff recruitment, retention, and development.
  4. Climate, culture, and wellness.
  5. Community engagement.
  6. Business operations and finance.
  7. Facilities and technology.
The overall goal of Mount Aloysius is to be viewed as the premier leader addressing the specific needs of all individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities. Our focus is to inform, support and empower in order to develop, coach and partner with our teams and individuals.
