We are currently seeking Medical Administration Technician (MAT)/Direct Support Professional (DSP) Float to join our team.  The MAT/DSP Float plays a key role in what we do. The MAT/DSP Float is a hybrid position within the Nursing Department and Program Services Department.  The MAT/DSP Float will primarily preform MAT duties, however will share DSP duties when requested acting as a float to perform duties including but not limited to breaks, lunches and laundry.  The MAT/DSP Float provides individualized care to each resident based upon specific needs and follows all applicable regulations to ensure confidentiality of resident records.  

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

Carry out administrative and resident care duties as directed.

Perform administrative duties, give and receive reports, answer incoming telephone calls.

Order prescribed medications and transcribe physician orders to resident Medex.

Assemble resident chart, ensuring all permits, authorizations, releases, and other required forms are attached.

Requisition supplies, equipment, linens, and emergency drugs to meet department needs. Ensure equipment is in good operating order.

Maintain department records, performing charting duties as indicated and complete required department or medical chart forms.

Prepare residents and transport residents to appointments for any services outside the facility; notify appropriate personnel if transportation is to be arranged.

Make daily visits to observe and evaluate residents’ physical and emotional status; monitor vital signs, weight monthly, and record.

Administer medication with the exception of controlled substances (narcotics), give treatments, and perform other professional services as ordered. Provide emergency treatment when required; notify Physician of emergency, take and carry out Physician’s orders.

Assist the Physician with examinations and treatment, notify the Physician of changes in condition and any unusual or abnormal behavior.

Obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Certification, train new employees in First Aid/CPR/AED and recertify current employee certification as needed.

 

Assist and/or train residents incapable of performing their own hygiene tasks to maintain acceptable levels of grooming and cleanliness.

 

Implement behavior support strategies as defined by the Individual Service Plan, (ISP) and meet the emotional needs of the resident through use of techniques such as reinforcement, demonstration, and modeling of alternate behaviors.

 

Complete all necessary documentation of services, by end of shift, to accurately record the progress of each resident.

 

Regardless of daily apartment assignments, completes all duties and provides Active Treatment.

 

Maintain residents’ clothing and personal belongings and ensure that all are appropriately tagged.

Duties include:

 

  • Reviews menus before preparing foods; prepares meals according to planned menus.
  • Assists in purchasing foods and supplies.
  • Assists with cleaning equipment and kitchen daily, as well as assigned cleaning jobs.
  • Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to essential functions.
  • Serves food according to portion control.

Program Director

Mount Aloysius is currently accepting applications for a Program Director.  The Program Director coordinates habilitative programs of the Program Services Department. The responsibilities of the Program Director include the oversight and development and implementation of each resident’s Individual Service Plan. The Program Director must be willing to obtain a QIDP certification. He or she monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of each program and recommends to the Administrator needed alterations in Program Services and establishes goal-directed priorities. The Program Director also assists in planning and coordinating in-service training for Program Services employees.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Supervises/administers fiscal policy for the department, and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Establishes department goals and priorities.
  • Oversees habilitation and departmental staff documentation.
  • Attends meetings to obtain/provide information regarding participants progress in their programs and program issues.
  • Primary Major Unusual Incident Investigator
  • Serves as a member of the County Board of Rights Committee.
  • Counsels/disciplines department staff.
  • Resolves problems between program teams and other internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with Program Supervisors to create detailed implementation plans including deadlines, milestones, processes and risk mitigation protocols.
  • Provide processes for monitoring performance and collaborating with program teams to determine ways to improve.
  • Recommends, develops and implements new programming pursuant to the needs of the facility.
  • Supervises the scheduling of Program Supervisors and Therapy staff.
  • Performs evaluations of Program Services and Therapy staff.
  • Indirectly supervises Direct Support Professionals and Shift Supervisors as needed.
  • Participates in admission reviews and discharges.
  • Supervises the use of Behavior Supports as designed by the Behavior Support Committee.
  • Conducts parent/guardian conferences as related to programming services.
  • Assists in the coordination of in-service training.
  • Responsible for following up on quality assurance and reporting back to Administrator or Quality Assurance Coordinator.
  • Assists in Quality Assurance Reviews on at least an annual basis.
  • Serves as team leader for the Human Rights Committee and Behavior Support/Medication review committee.
  • Attends in-service training as needed.
  • Shares duties of Administrator in the absence of the Administrator from the facility.
  • Demonstrates and understands Mount Aloysius Policies
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Administrator.
